i am buying the same guitar at the moment, is the sound as good as the standard Les Paul. some guys are saying it's no so great for heavy rock. what is your opinion. Steve
I do not own a "standard" Les Paul. Les Paul guitars are generally heavy and that definitely influences their sound. That being said, the pickups are what matter most. So compare that before buying. There is no particular musical style that is better for them, since they are universally excellent, in my humble opinion. If you do want that thin, jangly single-coil sound, get a Strat. :-)
I got the same model when I was blu and that what I lear4ned to play on this guitar then it , She rocked me like no other and now she's the best in my collection of about 14 guitars aloso have a "The Paul" flat top need to try some other pickups on bridge
i have the exact same black beauty. bought in 94 brand new for 500 bucks from a music store that was going out of business. Id never trade it for anything. I have several other guitars and it is almost always the go to. as for heavy rock it does fine with the use of a pedal or 2. I actually love it because you can play it cleaner than all the other guitars i have ever played. you can distort add drive and crunch anything but not all guitars play as clean as a Les Paul. The only issue i had was right when i bought it the intonation was way off and that took me a couple of hours to get straightend out but its been great ever since.
